Submitted by Carol, Winter Harbor, Maine, USA. This scene greets most people when they come to town. The sculpture represents a cleat, which is a place to tie up and be safe in the harbor if you have a boat on the water. The sculpture was created by Don Justin Merserve during an International Sculpture Symposium.
So if you visit Winter Harbor just remember we welcome you and offer you safety and friendship!
If you read my blog there is a Google map that show this location in Winter Harbor.
