Throwback Thursday-Hometown Memories

Welcome to Winter Harbor, Hometown Memories: Vintage photographs used as focal points for Mixed Media Art.

Hamburger HillThis is Hamburger Hill, it was located on top of Bowarra Hill, on rt. 186 on the way to Schoodic Point or folks can follow rt.186 through Birch Harbor, Prospect Harbor and Gouldsboro to Rt. 1.

This building was torn down and today there is no way to tell where it was exactly.

Freda Smart owned and operated this restaurant.  It served wonderful homemade cooking, some favorites were BLT’s, Italian sandwiches, and pies.  I’m sure others had many more favorite foods to order.

Did you eat there?  What are your memories of this place?
