Welcome to Winter Harbor, Hometown Memories: Vintage photographs used as focal points in Mixed Media Art.
The Harbor Shop was owned and operated from approx. 1960’s-80’s by Avis and Clarence Buckley and located on 186, across from Henry’s Cove just as you enter town. The store carried clothes, shoes, jewelry, Hallmark cards and tourist items.
This place had a rich history as the home of Dr. Holt (white house in background lower photo), a well loved family Doctor. The house became a nice Inn before it was torn down to build a $3 million restaurant that closed shortly after it was built, then reopened occasionally in the summer months. Sorry no photos of “Mama’s Boy”/”Welcome Center” restaurant-but there is a ghost image of the outline in this piece.
